What genres interest you?

Breaking Bad

The Office

Parks and Rec

The Last Kingdom

Also any Korean show or movie with zombies will absolutely slap

Probably a less-than-idolized quote (as compared to Omar) but one of my favorites in the entire series? Cedric to Burrell, S1E12:

"There's nothing in the world you fear more than a bad headline. You'd rather live in shit than let the world see you work a shovel."

Great fucking line. I think it was around S1E6 that the show went from "good" to "holy fuck" for me, but I've never forgotten that conversation in E12. Greatest show to ever exist, no one's changing my mind

Trailer Park Boys

The important thing is never to let oneself be guided by the opinion of one's contemporaries; to continue steadfastly on one's way without letting oneself be either defeated by failure or diverted by applause.

Ozark is okay. Later season were written kind of stupid, a lot of character made what I would call dumb decisions that only happened because thats what the script said.

Also, lot of hate on men in that show. Every male character was ether an idiot, beta or on drugs. Case in point (non spoiler), the police chief started out as a man, then got replaced by a female because they needed the police to start making smart decisions, then for no reason I can figure, got the police chief was switched back to another male because they had to start making dumb decisions again.

I think the writing did fall off on the last season. My favorite was the third

but i have to disagree that the show has some anti-guy agenda. I think this is reading a toxic gender politics into the show when it’s not there. I think this interpretation is an example of male self-victimizing and it is kinda pathetic (and un-manly).

Marty and Navarro are both strong, masculine characters who lead the plot just as much as Wendy and the other female leads, and (generally) make good decisions. Jonah is precocious. The FBI agents being gay was imo an unnecessary detail but it did add character; the white one was a weirdo/druggie but the black agent had a good head on his shoulders. The KC mob leader was also sick. He died and his son was a loser for a while, but then he grew up and had a compelling redemption arc and became a boss himself. So I just don’t see how the show is ‘anti man’ or whatever you’re saying.

The Sopranos

The Wire

Devs (only 1 season long but it’s fantastic)

Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain

“The three most harmful addictions are heroin, carbohydrates, and a monthly salary.” - Nassim Taleb

One not listed yet, season 1 of The Patriot on Amazon Prime.  IMO, best season of television ever made - have to like dark humor to enjoy it.  Season 2 was dog shit and it was canceled after that.

You missed our subtle reference to Letterkenny up above? Trailer Park Boys sustained it all the way through, but Letterkenny got stale after season 4/5. Shoresy is a great spinoff though and off to a good start.

The poster formerly known as theAudiophile. Just turned up to 11, like the stereo.

A show that's certifiably sick is The Young Pope on HBO, very sick and intense.

Edit: Babylon Berlin on Netflix, though in German, is also very sick.
