So Incredibly Lucky

I don't really have too many friends which would understand this - so I thought I should share here, where more people will understand it.

I have been blessed with a massive list of alumni who all are so eager to help, provide insights and are overall great people. I've had an insane over 75% hit rate with my school's alumni. People consider my school a non-target, which helps increase the hit rate and how helpful alumni are. They understand the grind and how hard it is to break in (which makes they more likely to reply [at least this is my thinking]). On the flip-side of this, despite my school being a non-target as far most would think, we have OCR for around 5 MM investment banks as well as two BBs. Furthermore, school alumni which have self-selected that they are willing to meet with students include:

5 MDs at MF PEs

10 MDs at BB/EBs

20 partners/MDs at MMs

3 PMs at large asset managers like PIMCO

150 analysts and associates

and 5 heads or co-heads of a firm's PE or IB practices

When I first enrolled at this school, I never thought that alumni would be so helpful, or in such high places. I am so excited and happy that things are working out so well on the networking front. I am not a very charismatic person, so I went into college thinking I would struggle to connect with people at these firms.

Are you at a state school? I'd guess UGA, maybe UF.

If so, some of those top schools can be pretty solid IB feeders, given acceptance rate/cost. You have to hustle but it's all there for you.
