I actually felt a bit sad when Mike's grandma died. I really like this show because you start to actually kind of identity with the characters. But the parallelism between Harvey's Dad's death and Mike's grandma was a little too blatant, imo.

Just going to get my predictions down in writing here so I can feel awesome if they turn out to be accurate (will promptly delete this post if I am wrong). So here it goes:

  1. Mike drops off the face of the earth because his Grandma died.

  2. Without Mike, Harvey can't "close the situation" ie swing enough votes/get Louis to vote for Pearson.

  3. Huge sh*t-storm ensues.

  4. Specter Pearson, LLC is formed. Mike and Rachel depart with Jessica/Harvey and thus we have a whole new plot for Season 3. BONUS: Rachel and Mike move into what was supposed to be his Grandma's apartment.

Could be way off, but I just hope they don't leave it as a cliff hanger ending where we don't find out the result of the vote.

Besides this being a decent show, I mainly watch it for 2 reasons: Donna and Rachel.

no man crush on mr. specter ?

Uh no. The guy has his shit together at work and is a master of the universe but in the end...he has no balance. That works for him though.

Harvey Specter is the definition of a BAWS

They need to get Rachel and Mike to bang it out like the wrath of God. Awkward sexual tensions scenes between them is getting really old.

I've never been attracted to red-heads until Donna.

Louis is probably the best foil character to a protagonist I've seen in a show. You hate him, but like him in a really weird way

I am so hooked with this show and kinda sad that it will be over next Thursday. I hope they start season 3 in late fall. Last time I was hooked with any TV show was with Entourage.

About preview - It looks like Louis' vote goes to Hardman, Mike is heart-broken and decide to leave the law firm and his mentor. Harvey and Jessica decide to leave the firm and start on their own.

Yes Donna was so hot last night in her blue dress:) Rachel is one of the hottest women in TV (main actress) but Sloan from Entourage, tops the list.

I think if the ratings were as good as the first go round for the show, season 3 shouldn't be that far off. Then again, never underestimate a network's ability to ruin a good thing.

As hot as Rachel is, I have to give to Donna. Loved her return to the firm with those tit-tays swangin as she strutted her stuff.

I agree with the assessment of Louis. There's something about him. At the very moment you think he can't get any worse, he redeems himself slightly. Rick Hoffman was definitely made to be Louis Litt.

Let's not forget the epic cliff that Entourage fell off of post-season 3, only to recover shortly at the end of season 6 before raping itself beyond recognition in the next 2 seasons.

I agree. I also felt this way about the West Wing after Sorkin left. Season 2 of the West Wing was one of the best TV seasons of all time.

However, I think 24 takes the cake for a precipituous drop. After season 4, the series went down the toilet and towards the end it got painful to even watch it.

Going Concern:
agree with the louis comments...i think secretly he might be my favorite character

time to get litt up

That was excellent.

Only thing that could make this show any better is a bit o' gratuitous nudit-ay. I think I could eat dinner off Donna's breastesses.

Honestly, although it is my favorite show right now - I don't think it's critically "good" by any means in terms of originality or writing. The storyline's predictable and the lines are borderline cheesy. As someone mentioned, the two deaths in this season were sort of out of place and lazy. I get the Yin/Yang symbolism - Promotion/death, Mike/Harvey, Harvey/Donna, Harvey/Jessica, Youth/Experience but I hate it when writers create events for "shock" value that don't progress the story forward. This IMO is the best way to ruin a good show. I can maybe see why Nana died, but Harvey's dad dying was sort of superfluous, and was added in pretty recklessly. There's zero connection there. And I'm nitpicking, but one of the episodes was pure filler (post Donna being, pre trip down memory lane)

The acting on the other hand is what really carries the show. Perfect blend of personalities and character development that really engages the audience. The strength of the show is that you can really root for a lot of the different characters even if their success is mutually exclusive

You guys do you know that next week is not the season 2 finale? There are 16 eposides this season and they are just breaking up the season. Hence, why it was called the summer season finale, and not the season 2 finale. Part 2 is going air next Jan.

Such a great show. The dynamics between all the characters is fascinating. I am glad to see that Louis Litt is emerging as a more complex multifaceted character rather than a terrible stereotype of an annoying NYC jewish lawyer. Pretty sure that hardman wins the vote. I think everyone's right that harvey and jessica will start their own firm next season.

Hoffman (who plays Louis Litt) showed that he's the best actor on the show in the episode where he made Donna freak out on the stand at the practice trial. Already knew he was but he proved it.

That said, the show is obviously corny, cliche, simple, typical, and absolutely addicting. I'd drop my fiancee like a bad habit for Meghan Markle and the worst part is she'd understand.

I am addicted to this show. I hate watching reruns and I watch this show twice a week lol... I'm addicted I love the fact that it is filled 10 mins away from my place here in Toronto...

They were filming the scene in this episode where Harvey is waiting for Donna with a cheque right on the corner of King Street and Portland (google it and see if you can find the store "Reggies" and "Big Smoke Burger") and I almost blew a gasket when I saw Harvey and Donna going at it on the road hahahaha...

they can not do any wrong with this show.

and with regard to mike and Rachel shacking up I don't think that is true wikipedia says that "Elisabeth Hower will appear in the August 23 summer finale "High Noon" as Mike's childhood friend and new love interest, Tess."

Get it!

I was lucky to be introduced to this right after the pilot last year. Most well-written show on TV, the side comments and jabs make the show. One key thing I read was that Suits is unique as up until midway last year, there was no scene shot inside of an actual law firm. I think the focus on the behind the scenes/deal making makes it unique.

If Mike does not uncork inside of Rachel I am going to be livid. I think that like everyone said, there will be a huge turn of events that lays the ground for season three. While starting a new firm would be huge, I think it is almost too predictable.

Also, I may be missing something here, but isn't this the 'SUMMER' finale, not Season? There have only been 10 episodes, and the season was booked for 16?

Harvey stoned...that was hysterical.

I'm with shadowcover. Some of the series on USA run such a short season and then you have to wait another 6 months for them to come back.

Donna's boobage...FANtastic!

couchy either cheated somehow or is a fucking genius.

i was right on all my points though still didn't anticipate it turning out as it did.

the question now really is, what will be the source of conflict that drives the series forward? the mike-rachel tease is a side plot, nothing more, nothing less.

I'd imagine Louis needs to get whats coming to him. Demotion perhaps if he isnt fired? I feel like they ran through an awful lot in this short period, no matter how awesome this season turned out to be.

Finally saw the finale... not over yet but just got to Harvey stoned... THESE PRETZELS ARE MAKIN' ME THIRSTY! Oh my god...

One of my favorite scenes of any show in a long fucking time. Probably moreso than the Entourage finale tease of an Ari-centered movie.
