This Woman Can Cook!

How important is it to you monkeys if your wife/gf/whatever is a good cook? I'm dating this new girl and she is unbelievable, everything she whips up is good, she LOVES to do it, and when possible I can get her to cook in her bra/thong.

It's been lunch / dinner / whatever (especially breakfast in bed on the weekends, french toast / pancakes / huevos rancheros, etc). She won't even let me touch the kitchen, and the only stipulation is I have to do the dishes - very fair.

Food is my second favorite thing in life behind sex, and I hate cooking for myself / am horrible.

What say you monkeys? How much of an added bonus is to you (and your opinion of the girl) if she can cook?

I love cooking and am good at it but a woman who is beautiful/ intelligent/ a good cook/ chill/ and willing to partake in the herb is wifey material.

Also been a better cook than all my gf's. Especially baking. Kinda sad that these days, people just don't learn basic things like cooking.

Also, women these days do not think of being "wife material" as being good, just fyi.

lol where the fuck do u live? Down here in the dirty south that's ALL these chics are thinking about.

Northeast. Women here seem to tend to care more about being independent and identifying as an individual rather than creating an identity as a person in a married couple. Kinda sad but thats how it is. Except for the mormons, they are amazing. I dont know anything about women in the dirty south.

RavenousYou might never hear me say this again, but put a ring on that shit.

Lol yeah?

I've considered the possibilty if she is just doing this until we become official gf/bf, but really don't think it's going to happen - she loves it so much.

All the other intangibles are there (minus one thing - which i'll do a future post on).. I'm in no hurry to get married but i'll def keep her around for awhile and see how things go

First person that comes out this fucking door gets a... gets a *lead salad*, you understand?

I can deal with GFs not knowing how to cook, but if you have a wife who doesn't know how to cook, that's a damn shame.

Forget all the "wifey material" BS. Cooking is a must.

Seabird and BigBucks I dont think you realize you're actually talking about the same woman (to an extent)...

I think deep down women are inclined to be the 'nurturer', and for the most part it is assumed that they can if thats what they chose. I might be wrong, but I think what everyman is asking is: is it important for them to show that side of themselves, to you, in the context of a relationship. I think women who are involved in the race (banking/consulting and other competitive fields) want to prove to themselves or others that they can do that too, and that often involves sacrificing the former nature. their subsequent ability to succeed in the 'rat race' is something i daren't bring up in this conversation.

some women choose to be 'wife material', others choose to bury that notion as far underground as it'll go, and the last group recognize they can do both and spend their lives trying to get the balance right. in my opinion thats wife material; someone who is willing to show/experience those layers (assuming there is some talent within them)

or maybe everyman just like watching his girlfriend fry eggs in a thong, and thought he'd share that with us today...

I'm a fan of the last group. We're just people, it's just life. Just be happy.

Side note: I like to cook and I'm good at it after working for 10+ years in restaurants, and like cooking for people. I'd also be a fan of some chick cooking for me in her thong, I'd get a kick out of it: would chicks dig it if I cooked them dinner in my undies? I'm ignorant, someone, please enlighten me...

Get busy living

If I wanted good food I'd order take-out or teach myself how to cook. There is literally nothing a girl could do to have me consider keeping her around....but then again I'm a piece of shit

I realize so much. I was a philosophy major.

Their wills have over taken their subconcious though. Bad culture. I blame the parents and tv.

Dang man, you with Ashley now? Wait till about 2 months of dating when she decides to "test the waters" and start cooking ethnic food. That shit may fly at taco bell but not in my house. But enjoy ;).
