What are your thoughts? Why make a thread without offering a perspective?

This isn't LinkedIn.

What do you think about the creation of the sovereign wealth fund, since you thought it was a topic worth creating a thread about?

It could be a good idea but the largest problem is how it’s actually gonna be funded. Countries like Norway and UAE can invest their own funds with the substantial surpluses they run. Trump is floating using tariffs to invest in the fund but I really don’t see that working out considering how volatile and inflationary they are. I’d think maybe funding it with a new class of bond similar to a munis to pocket the difference between debt service and whatever returns you generate. Also finding who to run it could be a bitch. Lots of the top contenders like people from state street or blackrock could cause a lot of backlash from the MAGA base. Overall might be a good idea but they’re really gonna have to come up with better ideas for fundraising and then figure out how to get someone who’s competent enough to run it but also not gonna piss off trump’s base.

Didn’t realize the internet had posting regulations, CRE. Or is that just how it was back when you were waiting for dial-up to connect?

It's not about regulations - it's about posting anything of value. People are free to be empty and stupid, but I don't see the point of starting a thread about an issue without offering a perspective on it and I'm free to say something about it. Perhaps it is "boomer" to expect there to be a point or something to actually engage with.

Edit: And notice that when prompted, a good perspective was provided.

Lol, I voted for Trump and this is the sense I'm getting. Not a MAGA voter but man... some of Trump's proposals lately seem really out there.

That being said, I couldn't in good conscious vote for Kamala. I just think Trump overall might do better for the economy but I'm not optimistic that the inflationary / shaky global markets will get back to the late 2010s boom anytime in the next 4 years.
