US blocking Strait of Hormuz. Good idea?
I’m really not sure about this one. I feel like this will not help gas prices go down. Plus, all other countries will be angry at us. What are your thoughts? I personally thought the Venezuela strike was a good call, but Iran War seems like a bad idea. 15 years ago, Obama called for a “Pivot to Asia.” Today, we are still stuck in a Middle East War. Leaked US intelligence says Regime Collapse is not imminent. Disappointing stuff.
I am worried Trump and Hegseth are over their head…
No part of this war was a good idea, this included.
Daily reminder that Obama already got Iran to stop producing nuclear weapons in 2015, and according to all the intelligence agencies they stuck to their promise.
Trump tore that deal up and started a war, and now the US will either get a much worse deal, or much higher energy prices. TACO is such a moron.
Just like Clinton's deal that got N Korea to stop producing Uranium and avoid future nuclear weapons?
Whataboutism garbage
No it’s not smart.
This whole war is stupid and was poorly thought out.
This Administrstion is a fucking clown show, and it blows my mind that we still have people on this site making excuses for this moron.
I am totally perplexed as to what is going on here. Iran’s 10 point plan included nuclear ambitions and we demanded that the Strait of Hormuz be opened. Now we are going to blockade the Strait of Hormuz?
The world gets angry at the U.S. for not intervening, then they get angry for intervening. No win situation
That's when you come at the world with a moral high ground (morality is entirely fluid). We are entering a new era in the world where the only remaining preachy power (also quickly becoming an ineffectual one) is still Europe
Regardless, this is a tough situation for the US. My guess is the war is back on pretty soon (beyond just limited strikes)
Can you point to anything that shows the world gets angry if the USA doesn't intervene?
Just look at what their reaction was when Elon’s DOGE cut foreign aid.
Nuremberg Trials coming soon. They’ll have to end the same way the last ones did (if you know, you know).
Would argue that anyone who didn’t actively vote against/protest this regime should be shunned from polite society.
Does polite society still exist here in America?
Fascism has to be confronted. Those who enabled it and/or sat idly by need to have the hammer brought down on them.
They all deserve to keel over with massive coronaries.
Saw this earlier:
"to confuse your enemy you must first confuse yourself" - Donald Tzu
how can the enemy know what i’m gonna do if i don’t know myself
Another one I heard was
"The Iran War is going so bad Trump is going to start bring up the Epstein files"
(The best part is it apparently came true. Melania started talking out of nowhere about how she never knew Epstein)
United state is comprised of the rich people and the poor people. FYI the definition of poor people here refers to all working class ( including the 1M salaried white collar elites ) who are not under the protection of Freemasons, or have connections with military, or possess ownership of large-scale infrastructures ( I am talking about owning lands and roads, internet apps, oil factories ).
Rich people will love this and will benefit a lot from this. Poor people will starve. The price of electricity will be through the roof, to the extent that many households cannot afford cooked food and air conditioning. This will gradually happen over the next 5 years. May god have mercy on you
So that they can rule over a pile of ashes? When people can't eat, they start killing. No one wants that.
Apocalyptic and "live in the pod" conspiracy theories are meant to make us feel like what we have now is just sooo good because at least we aren't starving and at least we don't have thoughtcrime and "15-minute cities" and whatever bullshit.
When in reality they have us EXACTLY where they want us- enough hope that we work our asses off for a better life, all while paying 40% taxes to people who hate us, who are inflating away the value of the 60% we keep. If we have nothing to live for, people start to revolt. They don't want that. They want to scare you just enough so that you think what you have is amazing and you don't question the premise.
This is right if we live 1800s -- hunger makes people revolt and rich people dont want that. But now rich people have nuclear weapons and missiles. Not just owned by gov, but also owned by them as private property. These missiles are very similar to the ones used in Iran war. They can kill ten thousand hungry revolting people in 10 seconds, with a press of button. Why would they be afraid of a rebellion ? Human flesh melts in bombs and rich people have many bombs
I agree it’s probably going to end disastrously for us. HOWEVER, to make the argument, the upside is tremendous if we can pull this off. The Straight is currently the only leverage and deterrence Iran has right now. If (big if) we can clear the mines, establish control, and maintain it in perpetuity, we control a major economic choke point and remove the only remaining leverage Iran has. Again, easier said than done.
It's 500 IQ when Iran does it and completely moronic when the U.S. does. I am very smart.
Does Trump give a shit about the S&P 500?
Does the Ayatollah?
There's your answer bud.
Me to the administration: open the fuckin straight you crazy bastards!
The US has already lost. There has never been such a huge disruption to global energy and the downstreams (food supply etc). Iran's only objective was to survive, so they already "won". The incoming economic fallout will be the ruin of the parasite Epstein class.
