If you do not have a Valentine this year, what would you want to do if you had one?
If I had one:
1. Very nice dinner - flower handout
2. Bubble bath - feed each other chocolates
3. Movie - she gets massaged (hopefully I do too)
4. Bedtime - S*x? (I'd hope maybe)
What I'm doing instead:
1. Working til midnight
2. Simping in my head
3. Feeding my simping self chocolate like a total loser
4. Taking a bath at 1 am with a rubber duck
Want:
1) dinner at a cute local restaurant downtown
2) go home and bake something (preferably muffins)
3) watch a movie
3) go to sleep
Have:
1) going back to work a double because it’s busy with people eating out
2) gym
3) problem set due tomorrow for my 9 am anthropology class

Just going for dinner. We are pretty simple and don't do fancy gifts or anything.
Cooking at home, wife and I are both very into cooking, I'm doing a dessert I've never tried before, and she's doing a a main dish she's never tried.A bit nervous because her dish can't really be 'ruined' but if I fuck something small up, it's over. Takes a fucking dozen eggs too.

I lucked out. We're doing home-made buffalo chicken pizza and brownies.
valentine's day dinners are a scam. Every half-decent place is full for dinner and it's all about maximizing $$$ per table. We may do something low-key for lunch and we had a fun weekend last weekend.

My local pizza joint/bar is doing that. They're fine for pizza and a cocktail, but have no business trying to do a 3 course prixe fix meal with a drink for $60pp.

Buy some aesthetically pleasing lingerie for my main girl, have some average-but-passable wine and chocolate together, followed by hours of animalistic fornication. Then some solid coffee together the morning after, naturally.

Practicing on being more mindful. Woke up, speed-wrote a few chapters of CFA formulae I've memorized.
Had lunch, went to the gym. Was planning on maxing out on squat which I was frankly slightly apprehensive about because my gym's equipment is not the best out there so I'm risking injury 2 days out from the CFA.
Drove 20 mins to the gym, realized I forgot my shoes at home. As I simmered with anger in the car, I practiced my breathing techniques and therapy techniques to control my anger. Chose to do a different workout that wouldn't need my shoes. Decided it might be a blessing in disguise now that I wouldn't need to risk bailing out on squat under a weight I've never touched before.
205kg deadlift, easy. RPE 8.5, fastest 200kg+ pull I've done. 125kg x 4, 130kg x 2 bench easy, RPE 8.5. All without shoes. Working back towards peak strength levels on all 3 levels. Linear periodization this block has been sweet.
Will write out the rest of the CFA formulae now that I'm home. Will take a swim and have a light workout tomorrow to relax 1 day out

Kidding. Wife and I are grabbing lunch together, going to the Met after hours, and making dinner at home. We go out to restaurants all the time, so doing so on a major holiday like this is more of a pain than anything.
It’s all about keeping it simple plus it’s way better than an extravagant night.

Replace the dead battery in the car and investigate how it happened. Break up another DV fight...again...File my taxes. Maybe something happens later with the on-again-off-again, for silver linings and all that. Shit post on WSO between calls to at least make myself chuckle. You know, just another day that ends in y.
Was pretty excited to check out this new restaurant in Foggy Bottom, made a reservation for tonight about six weeks ago. Or so I thought. Turns out OpenTable fucked up the timing and my reservation got bumped. Got the news a couple of days ago - was fuming at first, but it's not something to lose sleep over. Once I get home from work, the wife and I will cook something together and maybe eat on the balcony w/ the dog. Simple, yet all I need is the company, not the event!
