What class do you fall in?

Does classism still exist? In the age of technology where sites like WSO and LinkedIn allow poor non-targets like me to have discussions with some of you golf-playing, private jet-flying, cigar-smoking, whiskey-drinking upper class people, would you still consider class to exist? Having lived in NYC for 5 years where the spectrum of wealth covers all grounds perfectly, I saw a noticeable distinction between lower class, middle of the bucket, and upper class people just by the way they walked and of course from their demeanor. I've even had this discussion with someone who shared a similar belief. So, I'm just interested in understanding how class is perceived in this age and whether or not it is still something that affects us the way it has for centuries.

Also, I have to admit that I kinda feel sometimes that I identify with Pip straight from the Charles Dickens classic novel because I have so high ambitions for my life. I sometimes want the Jay Gatsby house overlooking the lake, with the perfect girl named Daisy, but worry that if I do finally get there, I'll find out that its perfection was just a figment of my own imagination. What are your perceptions on class for those that come from similar non-prestigious backgrounds to the higher echelons of society?
