What do I do now with all this free time?

So I got a SA 2022 offer to a good BB after 2 years of grinding from an extreme non-target. I thought achieving a goal that I've worked on for years would feel amazing, but it just feels... okay? Not that satisfying, not what I expected. Less stress in my life for sure though.

Right now, I'm working 40 hours a week WFH at my parents house from a super chill corporate finance internship. Probably only 20 hours a week of real work, and I have three day weekends with absolutely nothing on my plate and no responsibilities every week from Thursday at 4 pm until Monday morning. I haven't had this much free time since before high school, I had no free time in college because I had a very rigid schedule of exercise, studying to keep my 4.0, preparing for IB interviews, networking, and going out and partying like an animal several nights a week. My parents moved after I graduated high school, so I really don't have many friends in the city that I'm at right now. Feeling slightly isolated honestly but I'm used to it at this point from all the COVID shit.

Right now, I get nine hours of sleep a night, exercise for two hours a day, read a lot, but still have an obscene amount of free time. Have also been lucky enough to spend two weeks WFH travelling in a different city and have another trip planned for next month. Should I start preparing for PE interviews (that's what I want to do after IB), study for the CFA, learn a new language? I need new challenges in life to keep me going, I can't do 40 hour work weeks and Netflix binge-watching, that kind of life feels very meaningless to me. I know this is probably the most free time I'll have for a very long time so I want to utilize it as well as possible before I'm working 80 hour weeks.

I got a good arrangement going on with a girl from my gym ;)

but I still have so much fucking free time. I'm uncomfortable with it. I don't feel satisfied. Maybe I should add another girl to my roster?

Maybe I should just go complete hardass and apply my drive to learn Spanish to try to become like fucking fluent before the end of the summer AND pick up Latina chicks. That might be my new goal.

That sounds like a dub. I think I'm going to try to study Spanish for three hours a day and pick up three Latinas a month. That is my new goal in life. Thanks

Just study abroad dude - it is the way. I learned my Spanish drunk in the bars trying to pick up chicks at Canovas in Valencia, Spain.

Take up golf in your free time. It will take forever to decently master, and even after is always a challenge. Plus it is a great medium for building relationships. Congrats on the offer

Practically how big of an advantage is it in finance really? My parents never did it, so I never learned and personally think it’s kind of boring / not my cup of tea but I have considered taking some lessons. Just not sure if it’s the best ROI for my time

It just depends on who you are trying to connect with and if they play. I met a VP with a random firm this summer, we talked about golf, which ultimately led to him inviting me to their company golf outing, and an internship offer for next summer. It has been beneficial to me, but again not all like golf. It is a nice way to get outside and drink with your buds however

I spend any free weekends I have fly-fishing and its an absolute blast (esp if you enjoy the outdoors). It can be very challenging but rly rewarding as well if you enjoy that kind of thing

Would you be open to PM me? I’m going to a school with weak representation in IB and seeking advice
