Nice!

Self-winding Valjoux 7750 chrono movement with 100M waterproof. Never take it off, swim with it, no moisture issues, sturdy stainless frame with bumpers on the dial that can absorb a hit.

The best part? $800 bucks and zero associated guilt if it ever gets lost, scratched or stolen. Plus I've noticed affordable watches make your superiors or peers with ego issues feel "safe" to give you a compliment. If you show up with a Piaguet you risk baiting the envy or ire of the insecure.

I split time between two watches, a SKX009 on a nicer clone of the original bracelet (don't look at prices, they're going up more than they should) and a nice little 38mm SARB/Datejust mashup from a microbrand in Tiffany Blue:

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

The important thing is never to let oneself be guided by the opinion of one's contemporaries; to continue steadfastly on one's way without letting oneself be either defeated by failure or diverted by applause.

Oyster perpetual with a Stella dial. Going to pick up a Daytona soon. This thread is incredibly disappointing.

m_1 please save the day

Lots of silver watches. Not much gold.

JLC master ultra thin moonphase daily (even with casual wear as I got it with the navy alligator strap so it's super versatile) and seamaster acquaterra for days i'm active in the park or playing sports / traveling / hiking etc.

No "Blue Wrist" issues?  I've got a Pluto and am just not that enthralled with the MoonSwatches.

Here's another favorite! For any of you getting into watches, I strongly recommend looking at independent watchmakers using an ETA or other stock ovement that is then heavily modified!

You get a watch that can then be heavily customized, will go up in value if you pick the right independent, will have better finishing/quality than a high production watch from Rolex/Omega, and you support a small business! :)

This Felipe Pikullik for example I ordered a few years ago for ~$6000 and the finishing includes many internal angles, thicc anglage, etc!

I customized the dial completely with him as well. Fun process and great guy!
