Spanish wine is quite awful... not even close to basic French and Italian red wines. Give them a try ;)

Nothing against them. I just tend to go with what I know with wine. I'll give a shot to any nice dry red wine. Favorite are Argentinian so far. Something about the altitude, I guess

I won't drink Cali wine because they use some of the worst pesticides and more of them than pretty much anyone else. A lot of the shit they use here is banned in Europe.

Spirit: Polish vodka, gin, whiskey occasionally Go to: vodka-soda, gin and tonic, whiskey sour in fall/winter

Some of you need some serious help with your alcohol...

Jameson on the rocks, or neat. Old fashioned. Manhattan. A decent stout or porter when it's time for beer. I've had enough of these god damned IPAs that are nearly undrinkable and mostly made for some asshole with a plaid shirt, untrimmed beard and a receding hairline to gush over on Untapped. Fuck that. I'd like to enjoy my beer, thanks.

I will almost never pay my own money for a "bulge bracket" domestic beer, certainly not a domestic light lager. That's just wasted money. Quality over quantity. I'd rather have 2 of whatever I listed on top than unlimited bud/miller light beer on tap for free. Seriously.

  • Beer: Founder's breakfast stout
  • Wine: Malbec
  • Trying to get Hammered Drink: RBV
  • Cheap Drink: Moscow Mule
  • Go-to Drink: Manhattan
  • Celebrating Drink: Old Fashioned or Oban 14 or 18 year

Liquor: French 75, Moscow Mule, Bourbon with Ginger Beer, Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Sazerac, and On the Rocks (Angel's Envy, Maker's Mark, or Jack)

Summer Beers: Fat Head's - Bumble Berry, Magic Hat - #9, 21st Amendment - Hell Or High Watermelon Wheat

Depending on the situation:

  • dinner: red wine

  • booze at bars/clubs: gin and tonic or fernet and cola

  • happy hour: spritz

  • chilling at home: white, light wine

Manhattan. Super easy to make, but also a very good way to figure out how good the bartender is. Bad bartenders consistently screw it up.

Keep it simple, keep it seasonal: Summer: Scotch (on rock / neat) Autumn: Scotch (on rocks / neat) Winter: Scotch (on rocks / neat) Spring: Scotch (on rocks / neat)
