Not sophisticated in the least, but outside of some local brews, a Blue Moon Belgian White with an orange slice. Great summer drink
Casamigos margarita on the rocks:
Favorite? pina colada (preferably in the pool at a beach resort or on the beach at a beach resort) Go-to? vodka soda w/ lime
close it
Beer: Menabrea Spirit: Whisky Winter Cocktail: Whisky Sour Summer Cocktail: Midori Sour
-dry red wine, 15%+ alcohol, preferably Argentina or Spain, never California -tequila, carbonated mineral water, lime -potato vodka & kombucha
Spanish wine is quite awful... not even close to basic French and Italian red wines. Give them a try ;)
Nothing against them. I just tend to go with what I know with wine. I'll give a shot to any nice dry red wine. Favorite are Argentinian so far. Something about the altitude, I guess
Malbecs are great, and certainly some of my favorite, but to refuse to drink Napa wines is asinine. You’re missing out on so many fantastic cabs dude, some good Merlots and even Malbecs from there too. I wouldn’t characterize them as dry but my wife doesn’t like red and she will drink a glass or two of a couples cab now after going out there.
I won't drink Cali wine because they use some of the worst pesticides and more of them than pretty much anyone else. A lot of the shit they use here is banned in Europe.
I personally just like a Gin and Tonic it is just a great drink.
Spirit: Polish vodka, gin, whiskey occasionally Go to: vodka-soda, gin and tonic, whiskey sour in fall/winter
Moscow Mule
Same or an Irish After 8
Go to- crown royal and sprite. Summer- BROjitos new found love- moscow mules
Three shots of room temperature Jack, four ice cubes. The cubes melt down pretty quickly to add a good splash of water to the whiskey.
Beer wise, Miller Lite alllll day.
Isn't freshman year great??
Natty freshman year. Moved up to Busch sophomore year... Miller junior into senior... Good 'Ol Days
Beer: Stout's Liquor: Whiskey-Islay Scotch or Rye typically neat or with a large ice cube Wine: Red-Pinot Noir, Cab, Pinotage, or Shiraz
One nit edit - pls fix to reflect "whisky" not "whiskey" as it is from scotland. tks
J&B straight
And a Corona.
Saint Arnold Art Car and Revolver Blood & Honey
Screwdriver
After a long day, anything with alcohol.
Vanilla bean frappucinos because I'm basic AF and I LITERALLY CAN'T EVEN without them
Red Wine for those classy nights
Redbull and Vodka to fk myself over in the long term
Favorite summer drink for chilling by the pool or golfing is a transfusion (vodka, ginger ale and a splash of grape juice)
Some of you need some serious help with your alcohol...
Jameson on the rocks, or neat. Old fashioned. Manhattan. A decent stout or porter when it's time for beer. I've had enough of these god damned IPAs that are nearly undrinkable and mostly made for some asshole with a plaid shirt, untrimmed beard and a receding hairline to gush over on Untapped. Fuck that. I'd like to enjoy my beer, thanks.
I will almost never pay my own money for a "bulge bracket" domestic beer, certainly not a domestic light lager. That's just wasted money. Quality over quantity. I'd rather have 2 of whatever I listed on top than unlimited bud/miller light beer on tap for free. Seriously.
Breakfast Stout is good, definitely a favorite. You definitely have good taste in drinks.
Liquor: French 75, Moscow Mule, Bourbon with Ginger Beer, Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Sazerac, and On the Rocks (Angel's Envy, Maker's Mark, or Jack)
Summer Beers: Fat Head's - Bumble Berry, Magic Hat - #9, 21st Amendment - Hell Or High Watermelon Wheat
Moscow mule or mojito
Straight shots of grain alcohol so I can forget I have to work 90 hours next week
That will get the job done
The basics: Negroni, Martini (Gin), Manhattan - if not one of those, probably red wine. Tequila, and by extension margaritas, are limited to when i'm trying to destroy my tomorrow.
Depending on the situation:
dinner: red wine
booze at bars/clubs: gin and tonic or fernet and cola
happy hour: spritz
chilling at home: white, light wine
Vodka and soda with a lime when I’m feeling bad & bougie. But old fashioned or some whisky variety usually does it. I’m mostly a beer drinker in general, because it’s the only thing I will have when I’m not at some swanky party with the cool kids.
-rum and coke on a summer day -lagavulin if chilling
Henny
J&B, rocks
Manhattan. Super easy to make, but also a very good way to figure out how good the bartender is. Bad bartenders consistently screw it up.
Keep it simple, keep it seasonal: Summer: Scotch (on rock / neat) Autumn: Scotch (on rocks / neat) Winter: Scotch (on rocks / neat) Spring: Scotch (on rocks / neat)
great diversity
Beer: West Coast style IPA Cocktail: Scotch or Old Fashioned (Bourbon)
tequila water
Mojito Tequila on the rocks
The drinks of champs.
Blanton’s only neat
Beer: Karbach Hopadillo (Texas beer) Liquor: Manhattan, Old Fashion, or anything with Glenfiddich.
It depends on the mood. Generally speaking, J&B or cognac for chilled night, Remy Martin if is a date, Vodka/Tequila to making it rain, Champagne if I have to celebrate something
