I don’t listen to rap much anymore - as I’ve matured, I don’t find hearing the “n word” every other line as pleasant to listen to.

That being said, Future, Young Thug, and Lil Baby are all in my top Spotify Artists all time.

I would say Jay-Z is one of the greatest rappers ever. He’s not someone I listen to, but you can’t deny his greatness. Same with Biggie and Tupac. Eminem belongs in the Top 10 as well. I would put Drake there as well, even though I’m not a big fan of his. He has so many bangers that it would be asinine to leave him off the list. Lil Wayne deserves a spot in the Top 10 100%. In no particular order, below are who I believe must be included in a Top 10.

Tupac

Biggie

Jay-Z

Eminem

Lil Wayne

Drake

Kanye

Future (bottom of Top 10)

Kendrick Lamar is probably worthy of the Top 10 discussion, but I feel like he’s similar to some older rappers that are great rappers, but I just don’t find anything special about them.

Below are my favorite rappers in order (more or less):

Old Post Malone (Stoney is his best work)

Chiddy Bang

Machine Gun Kelly (Lace Up)

Rich Homie Quan

Ace Hood

Young Thug

Kevin Gates

Old Eminem (Lose Yourself, Not Afraid, etc.)

Lil Baby

Future used to be my go-to back when I was a toxic fuccboi in college. Same with Travis Scott. Migos also slapped.

Twista is good. I used to listen to Adrenaline Rush in HS on my 2 12s.

Most of these are rappers who have made timeless music that deeply resonates with hip hop culture. Top 10, no order:

- Nas

- Jay Z

- Andre 3000

- Eminem

- Biggie Smalls

- Scarface

- Common

- Kendrick Lamar

- Tupac

- DMX

Honorable mentions: Rakim, Busta Rhymes, Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Lil Wayne, LL Cool J, TI, Ice Cube, Snoop

Groups that weren't included because they're groups not individuals: UGK, A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep

Rappers who make empty music such as Drake and Future don't belong anywhere near top 10s. Although I like both of these guys, Hip Hop would be just fine if they never rapped a single line - some would argue Hip Hop would've benefited if they never rapped a single line.

Thanks for finally mentioning Tribe Called Quest on this thread.

Anyone who doesn't have Snoop Dogg in their list works at Tobin & Co…

Snoop isn't a t-10 rapper of all time. He is one of the most famous and Chronic/Doggystyle are culture defining albums but he has released a ton of garbage during his career. I'd say he belongs somewhere in the top 20.
