Work Setup while traveling

Hey monkeys, for those that are often working remote in other locations besides home office (ie hotel, airbnb, friends apt, etc.) what are the best travel work accessories you guys have used?

Thinking of getting 1/2 portable monitors, laptop stand, etc. Would appreciate any input here as I’m going to be increasingly traveling while I have remote work days and want to keep my productivity as close as possible to my full at home setup while on the go

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some travel work accessories and tips to maintain productivity while working remotely:

  1. Portable Monitors: Investing in one or two portable monitors can significantly enhance your productivity. They are lightweight, easy to set up, and provide the dual-screen experience you're used to at home.

  2. Laptop Stand: A foldable laptop stand is a great addition to improve ergonomics and prevent neck strain. Look for compact and adjustable options.

  3. Wireless Keyboard and Mouse: A compact wireless keyboard and mouse can make your setup more comfortable and efficient.

  4. Noise-Canceling Headphones: Essential for blocking out distractions, especially in noisy environments like hotels or shared spaces.

  5. Portable Docking Station: A small docking station or USB hub can help connect multiple devices, including monitors, keyboards, and external drives.

  6. Travel-Friendly Power Strip: A compact power strip with USB ports ensures you have enough outlets for all your devices.

  7. Cable Organizers: Keep your cables neat and tangle-free with cable organizers or pouches.

  8. Ergonomic Chair Alternative: If you're staying somewhere long-term, consider a portable seat cushion or lumbar support to improve seating comfort.

  9. Lighting: A small, portable LED desk lamp can help if the lighting in your temporary workspace is inadequate.

  10. Backpack or Carrying Case: A durable and organized backpack or case to safely transport all your gear.

These items can help replicate your home office setup and maintain productivity while traveling.
