48-hr take home PE case study

Hello everyone,

I’ve recently been invited to participate in a 48-hour take-home private equity interview, and I’m seeking advice on how to best prepare and allocate my time effectively.

1. Preparation:
For those of you who have been through a similar process, how did you prepare beforehand? Are there specific resources, models, or case studies you’d recommend reviewing? What level of depth is typically expected in the analysis?

2. Time Allocation:
Given the 48-hour window, how should I break down my time? How much time would you recommend spending on each component of the deliverable (e.g., industry research, company analysis, financial modeling, presentation, etc.)?

3. Expectations:
What do firms generally expect from candidates in these take-home assignments? How long does it usually take to do this exercise?

Thanks in advance for your help!
