90 Hours
We've all heard stories about PE having brutal 90+ hrs during live deal sprints. Would any of you mind sharing what activities actually fill the those 90+ hrs during live deal sprints?

Reading all the data room docs, creating analyses from data in the data in the data room, creating IC slides, reading 3rd party reports, reviewing legal docs, creating lender slides, etc.
Thank you!
For ad-hoc analyses based on VDR files - how much of these analyses are you do completely yourself or giving to your buy-side M&A adviser to do (with directional guidance) and just going back and forth with them to get to the right output and slides?

You'll be lucky to have a buy-side advisor actually do anything, especially if you're at a MM shop. That's why PE sucks, because you're doing two jobs at once (analyst + associate) while also probably hating your life coordinating and leading whichever 3rd party consultants the VP doesn't wanna do, like insurance, HR, etc.
In my experience (n of 3...) I've never seen anything given to our buyside advisors to do. Every buyside has just been a tip paid to the MD
Holding the pen on the model and hating your life with 5 team members inputting into you with different views. That will do it. Don't forget to show 500x different bridges and cuts of the data as well, that will drive value and better investment decisions
formatting changes. different cuts of analyses. then more formatting changes.
Lots of calls during the day on various due diligence workstreams, legal docs, financing and at the end of the day you still have to create slides, run analyses on the model, etc.
