I've been getting a lot of mixed answers on this topic. Are PE associates ranked like analysts at ibanks when it comes bonus time? Or is it a guaranteed comp structure?

at my MM PE shop, we werent really "ranked" since there were only 3-4 of us at a given time, but we were given different bonuses depending on reviews, performance and politics.
but no, most PE shops dont have a guaranteed comp structure - it is salary plus discretionary bonus, which for associates can be as low as 20% of salary to 200+% of salary...
What's the most typical bonus then? 80-100% of salary?
