Fantastic shop, but really really hard to land a job there (especially as an analyst). They only have a few analysts total if I'm not mistaken. If you're interested in PE/VC, Altamont is already there... wouldn't compare it to IBD since this is the buyside. Very culture oriented firm, so a lot of people stay on as associates, with the rest getting their mba from hbs/gsb, They're in the PEI 300 as well.
Thanks, that's helpful. Anyone know how the mega funds (KKR, Blackstone, etc.) view PE analyst programs? Wondering if they'd still prefer the more traditional IBD recruit.
Everyone I know that works there has some sort of family/friend connection to the place.
For the analyst program, or every junior employee? I had my eye on Altamont because the culture seems great and they recruit MBB (where I am now). I'll be really disappointed if I don't have a shot in recruiting.
