any info on hamilton lane?

I know there have been several posts way in the past with not many comments, but does anyone know much about Hamilton Lane in Philly or Harbourvest? Borth recruit heavily from my school in early fall, but am curious about if they are just co-investments & secondaries and exit opportunities from a firm like them as an analyst. I attend a non-target and am trying to figure out if a similar firm would be equivalent to a boutique IB right after school to try and move to direct PE

Had a FT offer from them, the only PE related exits come from the co-invest team, and those are average at best. Need direct majority investment experience or advisory experience to get analytical/modeling background.

Not entirely sure to be honest. I think EB chances are slim to none, as their recruiting is on cycle from the undergrad pipeline, very little lateral mobility in the junior level. Think your better shot is with smaller advisories/MMs. (source previous EB experience)

One of my college roommates and longtime friend went on to work there. From hearing about his experience, it's a respectable firm with a solid learning experience. But to echo what was already said above, it's likely not worthwhile unless you are on the co-investment team. Just looking on Linkedin, people that have come from that team seem to have decent exits (i.e. LMM PE, bschool, banking lateral.). Another important thing to mention, and maybe it's changed since when he was there, but apparently the pay at lower levels is atrocious even compared to their peers.

To give you an idea, he was making ~70k base with light bonus. Obviously a lot of jobs will be a discount to banking, but I know of others at similar firms to Hamilton Lane (some that are smaller) that are paying analysts 90-100k base salaries and solid bonuses. Again, it's probably a pretty decent experience and you have plenty of time in your career to make that up, but that still seems low af to me.
