any way to get involved with Y Combinator, Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz etc as an undergrad ?

Hi, I was just wondering how an undergrad student can become involved with firms above without starting a company and getting funded by them. Beside getting funded by them or working for their portfolio companies, are there any other ways students can get involved ? like campus ambassador ? write for their blog ? lol. Thanks.

Sequoia has a campus ambassador program that is handed down every time the previous campus ambassador that your school graduates. If your school doesn't have one, then I'm not sure what the process is to be the first one. Other programs that let you get involved with venture firms include Accel's program that focuses only on Berkley. You could be a Highland capital fellow if you go to Havard or Stanford. There exist student-run venture firms such as Rough Draft Ventures (backed by General Catalyst) and Dorm Room Fund (backed by First Round Capital). Greylock has the Greylock U program (but it's very secretive so no real info on the internet). I'm sure other exist that aren't well known/public.

Hi, thanks for the info.Really appreciate it. I looked at Rough Draft and Dorm Room, it seems like I need to be a founder of a company or something. I'm in Canada, do you know if I can still participate ? Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of those programs have expanded to Canada. As for contacting Sequoia, I'm not sure who runs the ambassador program, so I'm not sure who you should contact.
