Ignore title. Completely missed the mark in terms of peers to Apollo HVF. Sixth Street, Oaktree Opps, Ares SOF, Bain DSS, etc. are better comparisons. One of the more interesting names in the special sits universe if that’s what you’re interested in. At the end of the day, will be Apollo in terms of comp/culture, so have to make that decision for yourself.
With experience at 2 SS funds (mentioned in your list), i can say that the hours are not better at GS, Ares or BX. It’s the nature of the strategy, with opportunities in credit, equity and everything in between, as well as Public investing for some funds, the hours are far more in line with MFPE.
