I met them like around 2019. Rudy and Jagan I believe were the two main guys back then. Rudy seemed to be a solid Gugg insurance investing executive and Jagan a Rutgers/Wharton mba guy with some BB banking and MMHF (maybe P72) investing experience. Their main asset was an insurance company in Kentucky I recall and they have grown since then. Seems like a solid, boutique kind of shop with room for growth. Last I saw them they had grown since I met them in person. Good luck

Yes, they have grown a lot - now owning and operating 5 insurance companies which represent their main pool of capital. Their AUM, though, isn't representative of investable capital for alternatives. As its life insurance money - say c.70% has to go to fixed income type stuff. Super interesting model and positioning as a holding company and evergreen, partnership investment thesis. Strategic opportunities there is a real mix of almost in-house M&A, PC and PE - although they do not do deals with your traditional LBO structure, nor make acquisitions with a view for an exit.

I’m not sure about the returns but I hear they have an analyst who spins bangers

I had a superday with them a few weeks ago. First round was normal with some of the seniors, just behavioral questions. They brought me into a room for my “case study” and handed me a cigarette and a white bic lighter. The analysts then pressed me for 30 minutes during the case walkthrough about why I was coughing so much and why I couldn’t identify what kind of Marlboro it was. Needless to say I haven’t heard back from HR since
