Arcline PE SA/Analyst Program

Hey monkeys,

Does anyone have more information about Arcline, specifically their SA and analyst programs. Since their program is pretty new I couldn’t find too much on it except for a few old threads. How does it compare to top EB/BB at the analyst level? Do analysts here get the same recruiting opportunities that top IB analysts and MF analysts get (for other UMM/MF or HF)? B school? How’s the overall analyst experience?

Would appreciate any info on the firm.

Thanks!

Bumping this thread and adding a few more questions to see if anyone else has any info:

What size checks does Arcline write for their investments? Does anyone know much about their associate experience?

Thanks!

Ex-Golden Gate guy founded the fund and quickly raised $1.5B in '19 then another $2.75B earlier this year. Returns have been great but you've got to be asking yourself how much of that was sourced / came from GG inbounds (that didn't fit GG's mandate) and thus won't be repeatable down the line.

I've networked with some junior people there and saw their analyst program info session, so have got a slightly better look than most others. Relative to most funds, it seems they're more willing to hire junior people from MBB consulting which makes sense given their focus on more growthy assets. Analyst there told me that they're trying to find assets that could 5x over their hold either through growth or other corporate event and realignment type stuff (e.g. carve out the mismanaged/undercapitalized segment of a broader business and install/incent new management with a dedicated focus).

As others have said, the analyst program cycles kids around the three different parts of the business (investing, AM, and some other team that I'm forgetting right now maybe research?). After the program wraps and if they like you, you can choose where you want to be as an associate. Understand that AM at a place like this is probably much more meaningful than at the likes of KKR/BX/SL given the strategy and junior people on the investment side work tend to work very closely with the AM folks especially as it relates to platform M&A.

Historically they've recruited super late so the best kids tend to have accepted the EB/buyside offer before going through their process. I'd imagine that they'll adjust this going forward in an effort to get better talent. I think that you go there rather than EB / established buyside if you think that you're getting in on the ground level of a platform that is going to grow like crazy, which it might.

Just my two cents. Happy to hear what others think and discuss if folks may disagree with my characterization. Staying anonymous based on prior post history to avoid doxing.
