Berkshire partners / comp benefits?

Was reading an older post on here that said Berkshire has some of the highest comp + best benefits in the industry.

Last I heard comp was basically UMM/MF market, so just curious if anyone has details on either comp or any actually good benefits?

Curious if it’s actually “best in class” or just comparable to its peers

This is a bit dated (3-5 years) but it was slightly higher than average UMM a/o that time period - they compete w/ larger firms like Advent/Bain for talent so they have to pay competitively in line with that (or better). Also had a couple nice perks to it, including that it was more weighted to base salary than bonus (ignore the numbers but conceptually it's nicer to make $175 base w/ $125 bonus than the reverse) + bonus was guaranteed. They also had a very generous co-invest program, so you get some long-term comp benefits even if you only worked there as an associate and then left.

As others have referenced culture is known to be pretty good so I imagine there were various frill perks on the sides (idk what all that entails specifically for them but health & wellness perks, good catering or in-office lunch & dinner programs, partnerships/discounts, tickets to sports games, associate trips, things like that seem to be the sorts of stuff that firms w/ good asso lifestyle tend to market)

what is typical VP1 comp at UMM firms? 600k? base + bonus excluding carry since that is way more uncertain. Are there any firms out there hitting 700k?

Feels a bit rich for UMM albeit there are of course outliers
