C and R are two very different sectors... Roark has been investing quite extensively in R in the US, CD&R had some amazing runs with R in Europe. Less familiar with C, but L Catterton is the first specialist name that comes to my mind. That said, they do a lot of growth and I am not sure what you are exactly looking for (i.e. not sure they would to the 6bn+ carve out of Unilever that KKR did).

I'm grateful that I have two middle fingers, I only wish I had more.

As others have mentioned there tends to be a distinction between C&R (even if they are group together in IB coverage).

I can only speak to consumer groups, but there are pure play groups:

Catterton, TSG, VMG, 2x Consumer Growth, Kainos (yes, lots of drama, but some solid exits), Castanea, LNK (minority-focused), Arbor (food), Paine Schwartz

Then there are tons of shops that are generalists, but have a history of successful consumer-facing investments:

Gryphon, Snow Phipps, WindPoint, Leonard Green, Levine Leicthman, Littlejohn, Peak Rock, Sun Capital, H.I.G., Lasalle

-Not saying you want to work at some of those, but they are active in consumer and there are some really good names in there.
