Best path to MM PE?

Hey all,

Previously did 2 years EB coverage IB and 2 years Corp dev at a mega cap in the same industry - closed about 2-3B of deals so far.

Currently in a few final rounds at LMM PE shops in the same space. Was wondering if anyone has any insights as to whether it would be better to stay in my Corp Dev seat or try to move upstream in LMM PE if the goal is to land an UMM role? Also willing to consider B-school if it makes sense at any stage to facilitate the process.

Thanks in advance!
