Big 4 Audit to PE

Hi all, I'm currently about to finish my ACA, I've been working in big 4 audit for the last three years with a focus on PE valuations.
I graduated university during covid so the job search was difficult, so I ended up at big 4 audit (not what I wanted to do but thought I may take the job as it will hopefully be good for the CV).
Ultimately I want to work in PE and would like to know if anyone here has made the jump from audit to PE or if they know anyone who has. I have checked on google but those sites didn't really offer much insight. I am going to sit my CFA level 1 in 2024, I should complete my ACA by end of summer. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I know someone who went Big 4 -> IB Analyst -> MM PE Ass, but have not seen anyone make the jump directly

That's useful, Sorry I should've been clearer.  I would expect that there may be a few stepping stones I'd need to take.  For instance, going to IB then moving on.  I've also heard of big 4 auditors going to in-house fund accounting at PE funds, then moving over once established in the company.

I live in Canada and I went B4 Audit -> B4 Valuations -> Infrastructure PE at a large Canadian Pension Plan.

I also have a friend who went directly from B4 Audit to MM PE in Canada.

PM me if you have specific questions on my process.
