Blackstone 2h assessment

Interviewing for Blackstone PWS and I’m about to receive a 2h take home test. Does anyone have any insight on what this is? I understand by the time it’s not pymetrics and given the role it wouldn’t be a modelling test either

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know about Blackstone's assessments:

  1. Blackstone PWS Interview:

    • A user mentioned they had an interview with Blackstone Private Wealth Solutions (PWS) and sought advice on preparation. While specific details about the 2-hour take-home test weren't provided, it's clear that preparation is key.
  2. Blackstone Math and Corporate Finance Test:

    • Another user inquired about Blackstone's math and corporate finance tests, indicating that these types of assessments are common for Blackstone roles. While this might not directly apply to PWS, it suggests that Blackstone values strong analytical and financial skills.
  3. General Advice:

    • Given that the role is not likely to involve a modeling test, focus on other areas such as:
      • Financial Analysis: Be prepared to analyze financial statements and provide insights.
      • Market Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of market trends and investment strategies.
      • Client Scenarios: You might be given hypothetical client situations to assess your problem-solving and advisory skills.
  4. Pymetrics:

    • It's noted that Blackstone uses Pymetrics for some roles, but your test is confirmed not to be Pymetrics-based. This aligns with the focus on more traditional financial and analytical skills for the PWS role.

In summary, while specific details about the 2-hour take-home test for Blackstone PWS aren't provided, you should prepare for a comprehensive assessment of your financial analysis, market knowledge, and client advisory skills. Good luck!

Is this a test or a case study format?

I am not in a PWS role but, either way, I would imagine this format would test your conceptional knowledge of some of the key products you would be marketing in the role, i.e. PE, Credit, RE, Infra, etc., and ask you to layout how you would sell different products, i.e. key benefits of each of the key asset classes.
