Why wouldn't you? HHs cost money, time and effort for both the firm and you. There is a place for them, but if you already have a "way in", go for it.
I’ve found that if you impress someone through networking, that person (or the VP in charge of recruiting) will pass your resume to their recruiting firm and specify that they want you included in the process.
