[Career Choice] Mutual Fund vs. Active Management (PE/ PC)

I wonder what would be your choice between being a Mutual Fund analyst (AuM ~ 200 - 250bn) or working as an analyst at an active management fund (PE/ PC) with an AuM of (1 - 3bn) if we are looking at the compensation levels/ career progression.
