Carlyle Secondaries (AlpInvest) - Updated Views
Does anyone have updated views on Carlyle's secondaries group? Comp/WLB/Returns would be appreciated.
Also any views on the associate program would also be helpful. Would love to hear what % of associates they retain after 2 years and what people traditionally exit out to if they don't stick around.
they are building out the portfolio finance team in the US, i am throwing my hat into a VP/Principal role for that team, it seems like associates are a general pool that get staffed onto secondaries, co invest or portfolio finance transactions.
Co-invest is separate. Associates either work on the co-invest team or on the Secondaries and Portfolio Finance team.
Heard from some close friends at Carlyle that the firm is an absolute disaster right now, would say that’s accurate?
Can someone shed some light on culture as well?
What are typical exits from this group? Do they tend to be limited given the strategy? Do they insist on pushing all associates out, similar to other Carlyle teams?
Spoke with some folks there, yes it's 2 and out following the Carlyle teams.
