Not sure what the other comments are talking about. Centerbridge is elite but their deals tend to be a bit atypical from a structure standpoint and their people tend to have strong distressed exposure - if that’s what you’re into it would be a good fit. Otherwise Bain Cap is a household name so you can’t go wrong there. Congrats either way.

Bain obviously! Although, haven’t worked much with them, (from an IB perspective) know enough about CB at this point to say it’s going to be a complete grind.

CB is kinda bottom feeder, in the sense, they are willing to roll up their sleeves and work on building up (turnarounds, bolt on M&A) a poor quality asset (while bidding terribly low). That translates to intricate modelling (many times useless) and port co work. Also known to have a narrow sector focus. On positives, smart people (obviously!), managed to grow into a VUMM / close to MF name - with continued growth. Not sure about exit oppo or b school prospects.

Bain on the other hand is a storied MF known to go after good quality asset with more or less guaranteed H/S/W placement.
