Charlesbank Capital Partners - Thoughts?
Hi everyone, I've been receiving marketing material on an upper middle-market PE fund called Charlesbank Capital Partners. Seems like they've been growing pretty quickly but was curious if anybody has heard anything about culture, comp, reputation, etc.
Thanks in advance
Can’t comment on comp or culture but I know they are very consultant friendly with a lot of ex MBB folks
Strong historical returns and likely to continue growing AUM / fund size but anecdotally have heard it’s pretty hierarchical and heavy deal team staffing (multiple associates, multiple mid-levels) can make it a tough associate experience
Consultant heavy
A bit on the sweaty side, ~$270-$290k associate comp. Great reputation and great business school placement.
Culturally not as good as most of the other names in Boston. Very sweaty, lots of internal politics.
curious about what other names are considered are friendly in boston that are not growth equity shops? advent, abry audax are what i understand are similar cultured shops as the one in discussion?
Audax is a sweatshop, Bain has great culture
Are Charlesbank's culture / hours better at the mid-levels (VP/Principal) vs. Associate? Can anyone provide more color on the internal politics being a negative mentioned earlier?
