Consumer retail PE outlook

How do you think consumer-centric funds (Sycamore/TSG/etc.) will perform in the next ~5-10 years? Obviously this strategy has faced an uphill battle in recent years but do you think these funds will hang in there? Asking because I’m interested in the industry and currently considering a process with one of the places mentioned above

Thanks!!
