Hi guys -- what kind of background checks do mm pe firms perform on associate hires (pre-mba)? Is it very similar to what BB firms do for their full time analyst hires?
Do they ask for criminal, employment, transcripts, education, credit, and drug
Depends on the size of the firm, but I would assume yes to all or most.
What is the difference between education and transcripts?
Education i'm guessing is just verifying enrollment dates and major

Depends on the firm. But for your sake I'd recommend assuming that it is going to be thorough. Don't do drugs.
Mine wasn't so bad, was just a standard 3rd party background check. I guess it's similar to BB IBD.
Also did a drug test off location.
Did the background check involve getting official transcripts?
