Current SA. Too Early for HH Inbounds?

Currently an SA @ an EB/BB from a semi-target. Interested in PE after banking. Just received an invite from a top HH for a PE Associate recruiting networking event/resume drop.

If resume isn't prepared and I'm not ready to "network," is it worth passing on this opportunity? I'm not sure if I'll get another chance since I come from a semi-target, but also don't wanna mess this up by being unprepared early on and closing that door.

It will be a very bad look if you accept and are not ready. There is no rush for you. If you have the background to receive an invite now you will receive countless invites over the next few years

That depends on your peers that also got invited. If you know significantly less than them it would leave a lasting impression
