More than likely this is some sweat trying to force it to kickoff as early as possible.
Based on previous WSO threads, KKR's on-cycle recruiting process is known for being highly competitive and intense. If the kickoff is set for 1/5, candidates should be prepared for a rigorous two-day interview process, especially since most corporate PE groups aim to fill their seats during this period.
