Energy / Oil & Gas Focused US-Based PE Firms (Reputation, Insights, Etc.)

With recruiting kicking off soon, I was looking for any up-to-date / anectodal insights into US-based energy (particularly oil & gas) focused private equity firms. I've done my research based on older topics on this board but wanted to see if anyone had more recent information given the downturn, and subsequent recovery, in the sector. Less focused on the credit side here. Really taking a hard look at the out and out "pure" equity energy shops (both large-cap and MM, primarily located in TX or NYC such as Tailwater, Yorktown, Encap, Quantum) or megafund arms that are focused on energy (such as Blackstone Energy Partners, Apollo Nat Res).

I've been able to dig up quite a bit on recent fundraises but would also be interested in knowing if certain firms are unlikely to, or will have difficulty with, raising new funds going forward. Any information would be helpful... with anything, particularly relevant to the Associate/Sr. Associate level, most relevant for my edification.

More interested in the E&P side, but also interested in generalist energy while still touching on upstream (a little less focused on power... thinking more along the lines of midstream/services in addition to E&P).
