Firms with the nicest people
Time to hit the other end of the spectrum. Recent performance aside, name some firms with some of the nicest, down to earth people you’ve ever encountered. Let’s hear them

KKR health care team. Top to bottom good people
Well I’m sure they’re nice to the guy that has them by the balls these days
That’s why he says top to bottom. He has full access to the balls at the bottom.
Not naming names, but I found the following teams/people professional, helpful and friendly:
- Researchers within chemistry, biology (often PhDs)
- Management consultants working in the areas: innovation, medical field and social care space
- Also met a few ER teams in the battery/chemicals sector who were nice
For an LA firm, TCG seems to have genuinely chill VPs and up I’ve interacted with
Pwp London
What’s your take on their French and Tech teams?
Some of nicest people I met in their NY/LA office too. The people I spoke with were very down to earth during recruiting and now working against/with them.
Coatue, Viking, Tiger Global, Apollo PE, Blackstone RE, global infrastructure partners, HIG, stonepeak, cerberus
GIP? 😂
Platinum should be on here as well
Add the centerbridge sweatshop to this totally factual, accurate list of nice people to work for
All the consultant heavy firms with the exception of golden gate
Berkshire Partners
NGL I'm at BX non RE and people are extremely nice
BAAM?
Canadians almost always skew nice/polite.
Not really
I'd echo the poster that replied - Canadians are not that nice lol.. they are usually quite polite (not to be confused with nice) but there's plenty of Canadian savages in finance.
As a Canadian, I’d echo this
Also a Canadian and confirm this is true.
Most consumer funds are nice - high % of women and fun products make people happy. Nicest people I’ve ever worked with - TSG consumer
Thanks IB Analyst. Very insightful
Evercore Healthcare
This is not true.
Of the firms I’ve spoken with directly, Berkshire, BDT, and American Securities felt particularly nice/kind among bigger funds but have no real insight into what it’s like working at one of these places day to day.
AmSec founder doesn't seem to be very nice to his wife though:

JPM Houston
Oaktree has incredibly nice / sharp people
Can confirm
Some of their products have horrible returns given the risk profile, but yes, have always found staff to be very nice.
Which ones, and which are the stronger products?
Also, how do you find the returns of Oak trees products or any pe group's for that matter
This does not exist. Even if you find a firm with nice people, the nature of the job and industry will demand so much of you that you’ll think of nice people just doing their job as jerks
Any firms that are particularly sharp elbowed
Vibes from networking
BBs: BOFA, Barclays, Wells Fargo, UBS (so basically non GS,JPM,MS, and Shiti)
EBs: … Gug?
MFs: TPG, TB, (not all but) Vista
UMMs: Genstar, FP
MMs: too many but found that the MMs are generally a bit nicer. There are some to avoid and there’s threads on these
There are some horrible people at most of the PE funds you mentioned. Agree with the banks though
