For people working near east 53th street, where do you live?

I'll be working near east 53th street park avenue and I'm wondering which neighborhoods do most people live in? I'm thinking Turtle bay and Sutton place, both are within walking distance to my firm. I'm wondering if there are any cheaper options, thanks!

Most analysts will do the analyst thing and live in Murray Hill, associates and VPs will tend to be somewhere downtown and more fun (East Village, West Village, Lower East Side, etc.) or on like UWS or Williamsburg to be a little quieter but accessible if that’s their vibe.

If you want to prioritize money, Yorkville on the UES is super affordable (relatively speaking… it’s Manhattan) and you can take the 4/5/6 to 53rd or walk if it’s a nice day. Hells Kitchen is also walking distance but subway access sucks and you probably won’t see many of your colleagues living there.

If you really need to save the cash, you can go to Queens and live in LIC or Astoria and take the N/W or F/M to Midtown in 5-20 minutes, but people will probably look at you weird for living in Queens. Up to you if you care.

Personally - I’d say live in Murray Hill with a few roommates and enjoy the analyst social life. It’s tried and true for a reason

edit - saw you said 53rd and Park
