Future of IR/Sales

Currently working in sales/IR at an alternatives manager (MM firm). With ongoing fee compression and the rise of indexation (on the public side), I’m trying to understand how the future looks for distribution, investor relations (IR), and sales roles at asset managers and alternative managers over the next 5 to 10 years. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on:

What is the outlook for salary and career progression in these roles (particularly UK/EU)?

How are alternative managers approaching sales/IR, especially in the wealth segment and with evergreen vehicles? is this the place to be?

Are there sustainable long-term career prospects in sales/IR within both traditional asset management and alternatives (MM, MFs, etc), or is the role becoming more commoditized?

Would really appreciate insights from those working in IR/distribution, many thanks
