I’m not in IB but would you mind explaining why you got it? How does it work? It is a standard procedure when lateraling from IB to PE?
Juniors usually take unpaid time off between IB and PE, garden leave is typically for when seniors (VP+) move to a competitor (including to PE). The point is to wait long enough so their knowledge of any pending deals is stale and they can't use it at the next firm
