Man’s trying to prep his on-cycle answers but can’t do his own thinking.

 

I mean I also remember the pressure of not exactly knowing what to say when the funds I'm interviewing with ask, but you should probably spend the 10 minutes to think through what makes a good candidate, and then ask about that profile. Do, like, the bare minimum.

Remember, always be kind-hearted.

Go on Tech sponsors portfolio companies (Hg, TA associate, etc.) and find their competitors.

No one actually cares about what the company, as long as you can say the attractions / merits and financials then its fine 

 

Pro Tip guys, your line of thinking is more important than answer. 

It's better to give a lackluster answer but talk through it than it is to give the right answer without any thought. 

For example:

"Well, let me think. To make a good LBO candidate we need strong FCF, high growth, a defined exit strategy...blah blah blah" 

is better than just

"Yeezy. I would LBO Yeezy for sure."
