Great Mentors / People in PE

Have you ever worked with a person that was just a solid/good person and great boss or mentor?

When I was in IB my VP would always host weekly office hours where no question was too dumb - everyone felt very encouraged to ask questions about anything work related. As a young banker this was helpful as I was also able to ask simply questions like how to generate some form of work/life balance.

My current MD (I'm in PE now) is also a great person. He truly has an open door policy and I've legitimately never been yelled at - routinely encourages me to work less, take vacations, and spend more time with family. We just started an initiative to donate a meaningful portion of our incoming carry $ to women's shelters suffering from domestic violence.
