Greenoaks, Thrive, DST, 8VC

Looking to learn more about where these three fit in the broader “brand value” ranking for folks in the industry. Also, what are the exits for such folks if it doesn’t work out here; comp, career progression etc would be all helpful

Yes, I know that’s a dumb way to think about things. Yes, I know getting a spot in any of these places would be an incredible opportunity. Yes, I know if I am asking this question I probably am not cut out for any of these places.

Now that we have gotten all the MS comments out of the way, can someone with insights broadly on this sector share their views here please? I am AN2 (ignore title) with a solid PE offer deciding whether PE is even right for me and I am just starting to learn about late stage GE. I don’t know much but I think one way to think about the landscape is based on industry perception.

Thanks in advance!

Interview process is vague to nonexistant at Thrive and they never hire. Greenoaks likes ex bankers / PE and seems to have disproportionate from UChicago and BX. 8VC seems like they have a mix of backgrounds and likely leans technical given founder background. Helps to be a nepo baby as well. No clue on DST.

Would rank Thrive / Greenoaks > 8VC > DST. Thrive is on a hot streak but obviously big key man risk here vs. Neal seems to have built more of a team around him just a bit
