Haven't heard back from HH in the usual timeframe

Currently interviewing for a PE role that I really like. I'm in the mid-final stages of the process and met with a principal yesterday. In the past, the HH would usually get to me within a few hours about next steps. However its been around 12 hours as of now and haven't heard anything from their end... Does this mean I got dinged? Overall, I thought that the interview went pretty well, he nodded at virtually all my responses and body language seemed to be very positive, so I'm a bit confused here.

12 hours is not the end of the world, if it gets to 2-3 days I'd start thinking it's a no, and around a week you can consider it a ding. Unfortunately most HHs just totally ghost and that is your rejection, you're not always going to get a nice clean email rejecting you.

Also not sure if you are new to interviewing, but plenty of times you have an interview go amazingly well and still get dinged, so I wouldn't be too confused if this is a ding. Seniors are pretty good at keeping neutral, friendly body language and even if you did really well there might just be someone better.

Agreed 12 hours is nothing, people are busy and there is nothing urgent that makes them move quickly (seniors usually take longer than juniors as well). 2+ days I would say is when things are likely a ding. I would just wait a day and reach out to HH if they have heard anything from the team. Nothing you can do about it now either way.
