HBS or GSB chances

Posted in 2022, had some life updates so posting again. Thanks guys. Gmat 770/3.2gpa non target.First job: top m&a in NY. Second Job: Top HF (Baupost, etc). third job: corp dev in industry i used to cover. Amazing recs from MDs at HF. EC includes board of nonprofit and ton of charity and recruiting paritipation at HF. Purpose of mba to move into strategy function in the industry i am interested in. Low gpa due to death of parent freshman year. Single parent. White male.

Checking a lot of boxes here! So good job, as a b school interviewer for a M7 school here are a few things

1/ story crafting - your why MBA is a bit weak, need to be much more clear and what will you do in the school to get you there

2/ showing ur interest - school visits, alumni reco, maybe FaceTime with a prof etc could help

3/ HBS has a very structured interview and GSB is a very different vibe - need to put in the hrs of prep as needed

Thing is given ur profile you will be benchmarked against a different set and you need to come on top there vs comparing urself to a typical consultant or coming to b school vacation PE guy
