Headhunter Intros Dress Code

Are people wearing suits to HH intro conversations in 2023?

Many banks have strayed away from business professional attire and since many of us are sneaking away during the work day to meet up with these HH, we’re pretty much stuck wearing what we wore to work that day.

My office is VERY business casual and I would even say that I dress a bit more professional than others but if I showed up in a full blown suit on a random weekday, it would be painfully obvious what I’m doing lol.

For virtual intros I did so many that stopped caring. Doing them a favor by speaking with them - wore a t shirt and hat to my last one before getting an offer.

In-person: suit and tie

Virtual: suit no tie

Maybe you could get away with less but if you show up looking crisp they will notice and appreciate the effort, and why would you not want to put your best foot forward. Present yourself as an adult, a candidate who takes first impressions seriously. Do not present yourself as some devil-may-care Zoomer who has just now given them one reason why you might not be a safe candidate.
