HireRight background check UK

I'll like to hear from those who have passed through Hireright's process before. Are there any special preparations to be made ahead of the screening? Are there any commonly encountered issues or problems with the process that I'll need heads-up about?PS: How does one prevent one or two half-truths/exaggerations from resulting in a withdrawn offer : -)?PS: how does one do only a partial quote of another comment in the comment section using the WSO app (I've only been able to do this on browser)?

Thanks. As a follow-up, how about this (unintended discrepancy): I stated (in the screening questionnaire) that a previous internship/employment ended due to "mutual agreement" (between me & employer). But when they reached to the employer firm, they filled "end of fixed term contract" as reason for end of employment (I didn't think clearly of that fact when I filled my questionnaire). Is this discrepancy likely to be a serious problem? Or is it likely to be seen by HR as a distinction without a major significant difference ("mutual agreement" vs "end of fixed term contract")? Am I just overthinking things?

The check is there to make sure you worked where you say you did, on the dates you say you did + have the academics you say you have, when you say you got them + make sure your criminal record is squeaky clean.

That's it. They are not there to judge what you did and if it lines up with your CV bullet points. In fact they don't even make the judgement, they send a report to HR and HR makes the call.
