How 'accepting' is PE culture of disabilities?
Finance in general is not known for treating employees particularly well, besides compensation. IB, private equity etc. imo are the epitome of this culture. Long hours, employers expect you to 'pay your dues' etc. I'm not bringing this up to denounce the industry, but more to frame my question. Unfortunately, I am disabled, but still want to make a lot of money to be completely frank.
In particular, I have visual difficulties, need to use a screen reader to read long documents etc. since sustained eye strain causes severe risks to my eye health and vision https://tweakbox.mobi/. I guess my question is how understanding a PE setting would be of someone with a disability, using a screen reader etc.?
I guess I would be concerned about being seen as a weak link and how this might potentially put a target on my back, and hinder my career? Of course, on the surface and for legal reasons, every company will say they are accepting and appear to be so, but I'm more talking about the actual situation on the ground if that makes sense. Please give me the brutally honest truth. I accept that my disability prevents me from doing certain things and don't want to get in over my head because I was told optimistic, white lies to spare my feelings. Also sort of as a tangential, side question, how 'visually intensive' is this job? I assume it's a lot of spread sheets etc. to do evaluations? Could someone feasibly do this job with a screen reader at a similarly productive rate as a sighted person in your opinion https://vlc.onl? Thanks.
What's up with all these new accounts copying reddit threads and posting nonsense comments

I mean it’s probably the same guy just crossposting to WSO.

@WallStreetOasis.com Can we put a stop to this? Getting out of hand.
Disability acceptance in finance is at all time highs. I have quite a few co-workers who voted for Bernie and they are thriving despite clear mental retardation.
Yea I've ran into a lot of Trump voters who swear he's still the president, claim he's going to re-take the white house in 2024 (but if he's already president, why would he need to re-take it?), and will save America from something? They never seem to clarify. Looks like the disability hires are at an all time high.
Lol. You clearly couldn't see this was just a joke or are so in love with Bernie that you took it personally and went on the attack. Also I love how Bernie supporters think their opposite is Trump supporters, not realizing Bernie is more similar to Trump than to any centrist (Biden, Kasich, etc.).
Autism is highly valued and prevalent in PE
In all seriousness, how did you get through banking with your disability? It sounds like you haven’t had any finance job at all.
