How do Moelis LA Analysts Do On-Cycle PE Recruiting for NYC Firms?

I apologize if this is a redundant question, but I'm going to be in a Non-NYC market as an analyst so the answer to this question is very relevant for me. I'll be starting FT soon and was hoping to figure out what on-cycle PE recruiting looks like for people in smaller markets. I know that Moelis LA places incredibly well for NYC roles, and was just wondering how the analysts do that. Does Moelis LA let them fly out to NYC for on-cycle recruiting? Do they interview over zoom? Do the recruiters fly out to LA just for Moelis LA talent? Or is something else going on? I'd really appreciate the perspective of someone who has done this to help guide me on this journey. Thanks in advance guys!

Generally the second there are whispers about oncycle, analysts are on a flight to NYC. The West Coast analysts often miss the first few movers in oncycle because they don't get there in time, but you should be okay for most firms

Not sure what market you're in, but as a heads up Houston does not get much if any oncycle interest. CHI/SF/LA should be fine if at a major group but you need to be out in NY immediately
